Austin Camerata
Chamber Music | Reimagined
Austin Camerata was founded in 2016 by two friends—Daniel and Marisa—and myself after we spent 18 months playing in a quartet together at UT. The mission of Austin Camerata is to enrich the city of Austin by introducing new audiences to the world of chamber music through creative concerts, artistic collaborations, and community outreach. Austin Camerata was nominated for “Best Classical Ensemble” by the 2018 Austin Critics Table. The organization became a nonprofit in 2019.
Public Concerts
We place the utmost importance on free and accessible performances for everyone who wants to come to our concerts. Each year we do a performance at the Texas State Capitol as well as other venues that do not require tickets or an admission fee.
Finale Concerts
Each season ends with a ticketed concert at a local venue. Themes of previous finale concerts have included: music influenced by folk and traditional Romani music, and an original ballet choreographed to Shostakovich String Quartet No. 8.
Education
A core part of Austin Camerata’s mission is fulfilled by presenting educational concerts to a variety of audiences. In previous seasons, performances have been played at libraries, schools K-12, retirement homes, and Dell Children’s Hospital.
